we are looking for pacers to join the autumn marathon pacing teams

Dear pacers

We hope that you’re all well, despite all the disappointments during the last year.

We are optimistic, especially as vaccination has started. Therefore we start recruiting for the pacing teams for the Marathons of Eindhoven, Amsterdam and Rotterdam in October 2021. Of course nothing is certain nowadays and therefore we cannot promise anything. It could be for example that the major marathons allow fewer participants or that no pacers are needed because the start is being phased.

Why are we recruiting this early?

If all marathons will take place as planned October is going to be a really full month for marathon planning. The Eindhoven Marathon will be held on the 10th of October, the Amsterdam Marathon on the 17th of October and the postponed Rotterdam Marathon on the 24th of October. We don’t want to wait until last minute with our planning, thus avoiding the risk of not having enough pacers.

What if the marathons are canceled?:

Then unfortunately we will have to cancel the pacing teams as well.

If I apply for a spot as a pacer, does this mean that I automatically will be granted a place in the team?

No, first our regular pacers will be offered a place. Thereafter new pacers are granted a place. Please note: we always try to place new pacers in a pace group together with experienced pacers.

When will I find out if I have been granted a place (as pacer) in the team?

Approximately 3 months after opening our website for recruitment we will make a provisional list of pacing teams. However, this is a provisional first set up, and changes still can be made. If you have not been allocated a place, we will inform you personally via mail.

How can I apply for taking part in a pacing team?

Via the special link on our website.

Do you still have any questions?

You can contact us via the special contact link on the website. We will answer you as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Gerry and Daniel
